Expertise //  know-how

Every element of the studio contributes to our approach: a quest for uniqueness, high-end equipment, and a wide range of expertise in sound, acoustics, electronics, and listening.

You'll find a wide selection of microphones at the studio, but I want to emphasize that even more important than the microphone model is its placement! Remember that with the correct microphone placement, you can almost completely eliminate the reverb in a church during recording, provided you have a wooden floor!

The studio acoustics were the subject of extensive and meticulous work:

  • The acoustics of the Live Room are partly inspired by the wood-based design of studios like the famous "Power Station" in NYC, where I went in its heyday...

  • Another part of the Live Room is much more muted to allow for certain types of recording, particularly for drums...

  • I also have a reflection area with exposed brick for recording trumpets with natural reflections...

  • The control room, on the other hand, was custom-built from the ground up to achieve the desired dimensions, including the correct ceiling height. Furthermore, to achieve the uneven angles of the walls and internal ceiling, the control room volume was achieved by modifying the ceiling and adding a concrete wall over 30 cm thick before the booth was constructed.

Like the sound engineers who shaped our collective memory, ZenViewStudios focuses its research on experimenting with and capturing shared emotions above all else.

Technology at the service of emotions.

Ecoutes:
Focal, JBL,Yamaha

Faithful reproduction begins with the acoustic treatment of the room. Understanding acoustics will allow for proper placement for faithful/critical listening on monitors:

Focal Solo 6, CMS 40, YAMAHA NS10M, JBL 4312,
Beyma custom (in orange in the photos).

All of our Beauchene and RP listening areas have undergone acoustic treatment.

ZenViewStudios Beauchene has its own custom 3-way system designed by Eric Gross who designed Hi-Fi speakers in the 80s.
